!!!   BIG (AND FREE) NEWS   !!!  !!!  FOR THE 2012 - 2013 SCHOOL YEAR   !!! Hello Rochester City School District Students, Parents, Teachers and associated Staff, We are pleased to inform you that Rochester City School District will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Option (CEO) for School Year 2012-2013.  All schools in Rochester City School District will participate in the CEO and are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for ALL students enrolled in the district during the 2012-2013 School Year.  No Free or Reduced Application needs to be completed to be eligibe for free meals as has been required in past years; however for other benefits (free tutoring, exam fee exemptions, grants, summer programs, etc.,) a Household and Income form will need to be completed. NEW - Nutritional Standards for School Meals!
Through the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act championed by the First Lady and signed by President Obama, USDA is making the first major changes in school meals in 15 years, which will help us raise a healthier generation of children.  The new standards align school meals with the latest nutrition science and the real world circumstances of America’s schools. ...Please be aware that the Online Prepayment of school meals through the Nutrikids.com system is currently unavaiable due to the Community Eligibility Option which provided FREE MEALS to the entire Rochester City School District. If you were unaware of these changes and have already made a prepayment through Nutrikids.com, you can either leave the funds available for future purchases OR request a refund using the following linked form.
